Over the years as I have worked to develop the themes of landscape and my understanding of what this term incorporates, I find that my range has broadened leading me towards more representational images of landscapes as well as an application of the same techniques to urban landscapes. In applying the same aesthetics of colour, texture, shape and shade to urban/industrial landscapes as I do to the more traditionally accepted landscape, I aim to expose the often overlooked beauty that exists around us but which is cloaked by familiarity. This can involve producing an image from a less common viewpoint, such as from on-high looking down on an urban area, ensuring a new perspective and possibly a renewed appreciation.
