The Gallery presents a changing programme of exhibitions. Work is selected by the owners to produce shows that reflect a wide cross section of artists and styles. Artists are local, national and international. Exhibitions include painting, sculpture, ceramics and textiles. These may be one man shows or group shows, united by a theme which inspires the work.
During mid January until early March, the Gallery stages the “Upfront Cumbrian Artists Open Exhibition”. Over 150 artists, living and working in Cumbria, submit work that is selected for the exhibition by a panel of judges. Entry forms are available for artists from October of the previous year.
The upstairs gallery space houses a changing collection of work by artists who have become popular exhibitors at the gallery. These include Heather Blanchard, Godfrey Tonks, Keith Bowen, Shirley Shackleton, Eddie Tibbs, David Wood and Elizabeth Walsh.
Artists interested in exhibiting at the gallery should initially forward details in the form of a C/D of work or photographs, plus C.V. and relevant artist statement.
